Riverside [Stage 1]

Located in the Baptistcare Aged Care Facilities at Salter Point, the majority of the project’s site was located to an aborted apartment concrete roof deck. The initial client brief was to provide a synthetic bowling green, with a mind to the future. In collaboration  with the architects, Silver Thomas Hanley, the team proposed an activity precinct, making positive connections with the existing clubhouse facilities and proposing new covered barbeque areas, external lounge areas and new civic scale gestures.

Circulation,entrance definitions and a thorough investigation of existing, future and potential circulation and accommodation was undertaken. This provided the client with confidence of the proposed hierarchy of new landscape palette; entrance/sculptural trees, generous arrival/access areas, shaded public gatherings, intimate scaled areas and future connections.  Loose furniture, shade structures and pot equipment were also developed as a cohesive palette for the project and the future.
